The Mandalorian Star Katee Sackhoff Rules Out Slapping Another Womans Butt While Reacting to Bo-K
Katee Sackhoff is one of the very few who got to portray her Star Wars character in Disney+’s The Mandalorian which she has been voicing for years. While various characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars besides Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan have appeared in the space western series, they were all recast except for hers. So, while the Jon Favreau-created show aired in 2019, the Battlestar Galactica alum has been a part of the franchise for well over a decade.
In a way, Sackhoff seems to be much like the Mandalorian lieutenant that she depicts on-screen, a confident and courageous woman with a strict no-nonsense policy. But what the actress doesn’t share with the character is her penchant for slapping another woman’s butt.
Katee Sackhoff on Bo-Katan’s Butt Slap Scene in The Clone Wars
Remember when Bo-Katan butt-slapped Ahsoka Tano to show the former Jedi Padawan just how skinny she was? Yeah, the baffling moment even led to quite a controversy. Well, Katee Sackhoff seems to be almost certain that she wouldn’t want to re-create that scene in a live-action adaptation. Keyword, almost.
During her appearance on the Steve Varley Show, when Sackhoff, 43, was asked whether she’d be willing to re-enact butt slapping Ahsoka upon reuniting with the character on screen, the Riddick star responded with a “probably not.” At the same time, she also made a point to defend Bo-Katan’s morally gray behavior, claiming that it wasn’t always possible to depict completely puritanical characters.
However, Sackhoff also didn’t entirely shut the idea down, remarking that as “cheeky” as it might be, she could very well change her mind about the butt slap scene, especially if Bo and Ahsoka became great friends.
“You know, it’s funny. It’s one of those things that…you can’t always portray characters that are morally perfect. They live in this gray world. Would I slap another woman on the butt? Probably not. But maybe I would if she was a really good friend, I might. I don’t know. It depends. I don’t know. I’m sure it will be referenced. I’m sure people want to reference it. It’d be kind of cheeky if it was. But at the same time, I think they’ve both grown as people. At least Bo has.”
Looks like the forthcoming Ahsoka series might just surprise fans.
