The elegant iconic musician even managed to not disturb her eyeshadow. After his performance, Lambert was given a standing ovation.
Later in the evening, Cyndi Lauper also paid tribute to Cher. She sang a rendition of “If I Could Turn Back Time,” and during her performance, Cher could be heard shouting from the balcony, “You told me you were going to Los Angeles!”
Lauper could be seen shrugging as she responded with, “I lied.” Her performance got the crowd dancing before Lambert again took to the stage to take part in a duet of Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You, Babe.”
Little Big Town honored Cher by singing a medley of her songs while Whoopi Goldberg celebrated the iconic star by dressing up as her; accent included.
Cher live-tweeted the whole broadcast and tried to put her feelings into words. She revealed that her “senses” had been “overwhelmed.”
Cher looked stunning at the ceremony. She was dressed in a black velvet dress that had a matching thick belt that was reminiscent of a corset.
